Thick to Thin R1
The non-disruptive migration from thick to thin R1 devices consists of the following steps:
1. Configuring thick concurrent R11 devices on the primary array.
2. Adding a VMAX 40K or VMAX 20K/VMAX array to one branch of the concurrent SRDF topology.
3. Migrating data from thick R11 to thin R2 devices.
4. Terminating all SRDF pairings along both branches of the concurrent SRDF topology.
5. Converting thin R2 to thin R1 devices.
6. Configuring the SRDF pairing between thin R1 and thick R2 devices.
After migration, the new primary array configured with thin SRDF devices is mirrored to the original secondary array with thick SRDF devices.
